BBC Sounds is launching a brand-new podcast, Karel Prince: Lie Detector, a six-part series that puts football's most outrageous tales under the spotlight.
Hosted by the self-proclaimed ‘HMRC of football’ and new BBC resident football fact-checker Karel Prince alongside co-host Anita Abayomi, the podcast delves into three football stories, each from a famous name in the game. The catch? Only one of the stories is true.
In each episode Karel interrogates every claim using logic, evidence, football knowledge and plenty of online detective work, all in the pursuit of uncovering the sporting truth.
From unlikely encounters and dressing room myths, to transfer tales and unbelievable matchday moments, no story is safe from investigation in Karel Prince: Lie Detector.
The series will be available to listen to via the Football Daily podcast feed on BBC Sounds, the BBC Football YouTube channel, and on BBC Radio 5 Live.
The six-part series, produced by Sport Social Studios, launches on Wednesday 22 July with new episodes available each week.
I’ve always loved the stories that go on behind the scenes and the facts in and around the game. So getting the chance to become the BBC's resident football fact checker feels like a dream.
Follow me and Anita as we try and crack a new case each episode, diving into some of footballs untold stories from down the years. Football is only as good as its stories and I promise you, some of these are crazy and it’s been a pleasure to be a part of telling them.
