Big Kick Energy has been named the winner of the Sports Podcast of the Year at the Sports Book Awards, marking the first time the category has been presented.
The award was introduced to recognise outstanding achievement in sports podcasting, celebrating shows that demonstrate originality, strong audience engagement and consistent quality. Big Kick Energy emerged as the inaugural winner following a standout year of high-quality submissions.
The judges also awarded highly commended recognition to Golf Is Ruining My Life and Football For Kids, both of which were praised for their distinctive voices and the impact they continue to have within their respective areas of the sports podcasting landscape.
The introduction of Sports Podcast of the Year reflects the growing influence of podcasting within sports media and its increasing role in how audiences consume sports storytelling.
Commenting on the award, Jim Salveson, Director of Sport at Sport Social, said:
“We’re delighted to support the launch of the Sports Podcast of the Year award. The standard across the category was extremely high, with Big Kick Energy a worthy winner and Golf Is Ruining My Life and Football For Kids also deserving of recognition.
